FROM METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CITY AND NEW JERSEY Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) north to Exit 24 (Albany). Take I-87 north to Exit 30. Pick up Route 9 north and follow it for two miles to Route 73. Continue on Route 73 for 28 miles to Lake Placid.

FROM BOSTON, SPRINGFIELD AND HARTFORD
Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Albany. Pick up I-87 north to Cohoes. Connect with Route 7 west to I-87 north. Follow I-87 (Northway) to Exit 30, then use final directions above: "From Metropolitan New York City..."

FROM TORONTO
Take the 401 east to Cornwall Bridge to USA. Pick up Route 37 east to Malone. Follow Route 30 south to Paul Smith's and pick up Route 86. Continue on 86 east to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.

FROM BUFFALO, ROCHESTER, SYRACUSE AND POINTS WEST
Take I-90 (New York State Thruway) east to Exit 36 (Syracuse). Pick up I-81 north and follow to Watertown. Take Route 3 and follow it east to Saranac Lake, then follow Route 86 east to Lake Placid.

FROM OTTAWA
Take Routes south to Cornwall Bridge to USA. Pick up Route 37 east to Malone. Follow Route 30 south to Paul Smiths and pick up Route 86. Follow Route 86 and continue to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.

FROM MONTREAL
Take Route 15 south to Champlain Crossing, connecting with I-87 south. Take Exit 34 west, following Route 9N, then follow Route 86 to the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area.

LAKE PLACID AIRPORT

The Lake Placid Municipal Airport is one mile south of the village on Route 73. Hours of operation are 9AM to 5PM daily. Runway: 4,300 ft. Services: Air Charter, Tie Down and Plane Repairs.

ADIRONDACK AIRPORT

In Saranac Lake, 16 miles from Lake Placid on Route 86. Commercial flights: USAir flights available from many eastern locations. USAir flight information: 1-800-428-4322

ALBANY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Albany, New York)
Exit the airport to Route I-87 north. Take I-87 north to Exit 30. Pick up Route 9 north and follow it for two miles to Route 73. Continue on Route 73 for 28 miles to Lake Placid.

BURLINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Burlington, Vermont)
Exit airport to Route 89 north and follow until junction with Route 7. Go south on Route 7 to Vergennes then pick up Route 22A until Route 17 west, bridge to New York State (Port Henry, NY). Proceed on Route 9N north to Keene, NY, then pick up Route 73 west to Lake Placid.

AMTRAK
Amtrak operates between New York City and Montreal. Local stop in Westport, NY (40 minutes from Lake Placid). For information, call: 1-800-USA-RAIL. Shuttle bus service to Lake Placid must be arranged by reservations: 518-523-4431.
